Common Use Cases

✍️

Need a Signature Too?

Most exam forms ask for a signature next to your photo, with its own size and a much smaller KB limit. Sign in black ink on plain white paper, take a photo, and resize it with the matching template.

Portal Says Your File Is Too Large?

Every template already sets the KB limit. If your portal uses a different limit, compress the file to a target a few KB below it. The file never leaves your device.

Your Exam Isn't Listed?

Copy the width, height, and maximum file size from your exam notification. Then set all three yourself in one step.

How the Resizer Gets Your File Accepted

The resizer presets size, KB limit, background colour, and signature format for each form.

1

Match the Size Your Portal Asks For

Each exam body sets its own photo rules, and they change between recruitment cycles. The official notification or application guide is the final word.

Look for four things: the size (in pixels or cm), the maximum file size in KB, the file format (almost always JPG), and the background colour.

Pixel and cm sizes aren't the same thing. A portal that asks for 200×230 px checks pixels. A form that asks for 3.5×4.5 cm expects a print-ready ratio, which the cm templates export at 300 DPI.

2

Fix the Background Colour

Background colour is one of the most common rejection reasons, and it isn't the same everywhere.

NEET and the Philippines CSC exam ask for white. Indonesia's CPNS photo uses red. Malaysia's Employment Pass photo uses blue.

Templates with a fixed colour fill it in for you. Still, a plain wall in your source photo gives the cleanest edge around your hair and shoulders.

Resize a Signature to Its KB Limit

Signature limits are tight. SSC, IBPS, and SBI all cap the file at 20 KB, so a clean scan matters more than a sharp one.

A dark pen on white paper compresses well. Shadows, lined paper, and blue ballpoint add noise and push the file size up.

  1. Sign in black ink on plain white paper
  2. Take the photo in daylight, straight above the page, with no shadow
  3. Crop close to the signature, leaving a small margin
  4. Open the signature template for your exam and download the JPG

4

Fix a File the Portal Rejects

If the portal says the file is too large, compress it again to 5–10 KB below the limit. Portals and browsers sometimes count bytes differently, so a file right on the limit can fail.

If the portal says the file is too small, it has a minimum size too. Increase the file size in KB instead of re-taking the photo.

If the portal says the dimensions are wrong, check whether it asked for pixels or cm, and open the template that matches that unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about image resizing

What size photo do I need for an exam application form?

It depends on the exam body, not the country. SSC uses 3.5×4.5 cm under 50 KB, IBPS and SBI use 200×230 px under 50 KB, and UPSC uses 350×350 px under 300 KB. Open the template for your exam and the size, format, and KB limit are already set.

Which countries have exam and ID photo templates?

There are 28 templates for India, the Philippines, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Malaysia. India has the most, covering SSC, UPSC, IBPS, SBI, NEET, PSC, PAN, and Aadhaar.

How do I reduce my exam photo to under 50 KB?

Open the template for your exam and upload your photo. It resizes the image and compresses it below the KB limit in one step. If your portal uses a limit that isn't listed, use the KB compressor and set your own target.

Can I resize my signature for SSC or IBPS here?

You can. There are separate signature templates for SSC, UPSC, IBPS, SBI, and NEET, and each one uses that exam's own size and KB limit. Sign in black ink on white paper for the cleanest result.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

Your photo stays on your device. Resizing and compression run in your browser, so nothing is sent to a server. That matters for ID documents like PAN and Aadhaar.

Are these exam photo templates free to use?

Every template is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. You can download as many photos and signatures as you need.

What if my exam isn't on the list?

Copy the width, height, and maximum KB from your exam notification. Then use the resize and reduce tool to set all three at once. It works for any portal, in any country.
