How It Works

Step-by-step guide to india ssc signature size to exact specifications

Add Your Signature

Sign in dark ink on plain white paper, then scan it or take a flat, well-lit photo. Upload the JPG, PNG or WebP file from your phone or computer. Nothing is sent to a server.

Check the SSC Size

The SSC target is already applied: about 6.0 x 2.0 cm and a JPEG under 20 KB. Check the preview. If your photo has a different shape, pick a fit mode so the signature fills the frame.

Download and Upload

Download the finished JPEG and upload it in your SSC application or OTR profile. The file is made on your device, so your signature stays private the whole time.

Why Choose Imresizer?

Fast, secure, and completely free image resizing

  • Current SSC Size Pre-Applied

The page opens with the current SSC target already applied: about 6.0 x 2.0 cm, saved as a JPEG under 20 KB. You don't type any numbers. Add your signature and check the preview.

  • Built From SSC Notices

The size comes from recent SSC notices, such as the Steno 2026 notice, para 9.9: JPEG/JPG, 10 to 20 KB, about 6.0 cm wide by 2.0 cm high. Older pages still quote 4 x 2 cm. That rule is out of date.

  • Keeps the 10 KB Minimum in Mind

SSC asks for a file between 10 and 20 KB. This tool caps the file at 20 KB. If the result comes out below 10 KB, scan your signature with a thicker pen or at a higher quality and try again.

  • Horizontal, Not Miniature

SSC says the signature should be horizontally aligned, and tiny signatures are a major reason for rejection. Fit modes let you fill the frame so your signature isn't a small mark in a big white box.

  • Four Fit Modes

If your scan is the wrong shape, pick Stretch image, Crop, Add Padding or Fill Frame. Crop or Fill Frame makes the signature larger in the frame, which helps against the miniature-signature rejection.

  • Works for Every SSC Exam

Use it for CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable, Steno and CAPF forms, and for the signature step of your SSC OTR profile. Always check the notice for your own exam year.

  • Private and Free

All resizing runs in your browser, so your signature never goes to a server. There's no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many times you try.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about image resizing

What is the SSC signature size?

Recent SSC notices ask for the scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format, 10 to 20 KB, with an image size of about 6.0 cm wide by 2.0 cm high. One example is para 9.9 of the SSC Steno 2026 notice on ssc.gov.in. This page applies that target for you.

How do I resize my signature for SSC upload?

Sign on white paper, scan or photograph it, and add the file to this resizer. The SSC size is already applied, so check the preview and download the JPEG. Then upload that file in the signature field of your application or OTR profile.

What is the SSC signature size in KB?

SSC asks for 10 to 20 KB. This tool keeps the file under 20 KB. SSC doesn't publish a pixel count, so check your file size after download. If it's under 10 KB, rescan with a thicker pen or better light.

Is the old 4 x 2 cm signature size still valid?

No current SSC notice we checked uses it. Notices from March 2025 to June 2026 ask for about 6.0 x 2.0 cm. If you've seen 4 x 2 cm on another site, it comes from an older rule, so follow the notice for your exam.

Does this resizer work for SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD and Steno?

Yes. The same signature rule appears in the notices for CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable and Steno, and CAPF forms follow it too. Exam rules can change by year, so read your own notice before you upload.

Why was my SSC signature rejected?

Miniature signatures are named as a major reason for rejection in the SSC notices. A signature that is tiny inside a large white area, a file outside 10 to 20 KB, or a vertical signature can all fail. Fill the frame and keep it horizontal.

Should my SSC signature be horizontally aligned?

Yes. The December 2025 SSC notice says the signature should be horizontally aligned. Sign along a straight line on the paper, and scan it flat so it doesn't tilt. Fix any rotation before you add the file.

My signature photo is the wrong shape. Which fit mode should I pick?

There are four. Stretch image is the default and distorts the signature to force-fit the frame. Crop keeps proportions and cuts off whatever falls outside. Add Padding keeps the whole signature and fills leftover space with colored bars. Fill Frame scales the image up to cover the frame and trims the overflow. For SSC, Crop or Fill Frame works well on a tight scan, since the signature stays large.

Do I need a certain DPI or colour for the SSC signature?

The SSC notices we checked give no DPI or colour rule. They only state the JPEG format, the 10 to 20 KB range and the size of about 6.0 x 2.0 cm. Dark ink on white paper gives the cleanest result.

Can I use this for the SSC OTR signature?

Yes. The OTR (One Time Registration) profile asks for a signature too, and the same JPEG under 20 KB works. Check the portal's current instructions when you upload, because the field notes can change.

Are my files uploaded to a server when I use this tool?

No. Resizing runs in your browser, so your signature stays on your phone or computer. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere. That matters for an image you use to identify yourself.

Is this SSC signature resizer free, and does it work on a phone?

It's free, with no signup and no watermark. It works in a phone browser too, so you can photograph your signature, fix the size and upload it to the SSC portal without a computer.
